Libya. Obama's War. Quite Bush like. Hmmm?

          Wow! Has this been a hell of a month? First we had to deal with the aftermath of the devastating 9.0 earthquake that rocked Japan to its core, damaging four Nuclear Power plants beyond repair. Untold thousands still missing with the threat of serious meltdown looming, and now this? Operation Odyssey Dawn? Whats with that name anyway? At a time when you think the world would take a pause from the business as usual approach and lend a helping hand to an ailing ally, we find ourselves entering another Arab conflict with the endgame as unclear as the day President Bush sold the country on the necessity of strikes in Afghanistan and Iraq. We have now been locked in perpetual war for the last ten years with no real out strategy in place. Saddam Hussein been dead! And when was the last time you heard the name Osama Bin Laden? Who knows maybe he retired in Hawaii for all we know, because nobody is really looking for him.

         With the recent onslaught of protest and clamor for regime change in the Arab world, one would think we would simply sit by the wayside and wait for the dust to settle, instead of actively choosing sides. Didnt we try that already? I recall this is how most of these tyrants got in power in the first place. One thing is for sure. This is President Obama's war. He cant blame anybody but himself if things turn out to be harder to deal with then expected. I remember President Bush confidently proclaiming the swiftness in which our armed forces would be able to get the job done and its been quite some time since he claimed Mission Accomplished. Then as now, we had a broad coalition of support, that seemed to slowly dwindle down to the few you still see helping in the campaigns today.

            I was hoping President Obama would be able to avoid getting himself into a war of his own choosing. We have too much to handle at home with the recovery of our economy, the re-building of our infrastructure and the tackling of tough energy decisions to continue the "World Police" model regardless to the outcome of this current event. As president one bad decision can ruin you for good. Lets just hope Ghaddafi doesnt choose to draw this one out for the long haul.
